Gerald "Jerry" Dale Olson, 77 of Ironwood, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at his home. He was born October 3, 1940 in Littlefork, Minnesota, the son of the late Fredrick and Clara (Christianson) Olson. Jerry served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1964 with the Company E, 12th Engineering Battalion. He worked in the White Pine Mine for 32 years. Following his retirement he worked various jobs. He was a member of the American Legion Post 5 Honor Guard and the Norrie Club. Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting, and spending time at camp. He married Carol Saari in 1964, together they had three children. He is survived by his children, Jerry (Gena) of Ironwood; Lynn (Wallace) of Hawaii, and Jason of Minneapolis; two grandchildren, Jeremy and Cole of Bessemer; his brother, Roger (Tracy) of Washington; sister, Carol (Bob) of California; and his longtime friend, Sharon and family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Fred; and sisters, Julie & Irene. A Celebration of Life will take place in July of 2018 for family and friends.
