Gerald K. "Jerry" Costelic,
73, of Hurley, died Monday, May 7, 2012, at Howard Young Medical Center in
Woodruff. He was born March 18, 1939, in Calumet, Mich.,
son of the late John and Leona (Christle) Costelic. He served in the U.S. Army
from 1957-1960, serving time in Germany during that period. Following his honorable discharge, he worked
at St. Regis Paper Co. in Milwaukee for several years prior to moving to Hurley
in 1968. He then was employed at White Pine Copper Co. and Bessemer Plywood
Corp. until his retirement. Jerry enjoyed being outdoors and loved growing
roses and tomato plants. He also enjoyed reading and was a student of
history. On Feb. 2, 1964, he married the former
Patricia Mae Murphy in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death on Sept. 20,
2004. Surviving are a son, Brian, Greenville, Wis.,
and daughter, Tara (Stephen) Corcoran, Port Orchard, Wash.; four grandchildren,
Jason Costelic, Sean Corcoran, and Sawyer and Kamdyn Costelic; and a brother,
Ronald, Paris, Ill. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded
in death by a sister, Sandra Walters. Per Jerry's wishes, cremation has taken place
