Gene Jaster, 85, of Hurley, flew away with the angels on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at his home, with his family by his side.

Gene was born the son of Raymond and Sylvia (Hill) Jaster on March 18, 1940, in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1959 and was honorably discharged in 1963. Gene was known to run a tight ship. His dedication and orderly ways let him to a long career as a supervisor at American Motors, where he worked for 30 years and met the love of his life, Myrna Rappley.

Gene dearly loved his cats and wildlife, and they became part of the family that he faithfully fulfilled his role as a caregiver, animal lover, husband, father, son, brother, and uncle.

Gene is survived by his brother, Kevin (Shelly) Jaster, niece Jennifer Jaster, and many nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and friends.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife and best friend, Myrna Jaster, his brother, Sarina's 2 children, and his nieces and nephews.

Thank you to his caregiver, Sarina Kent, for bringing food, laughter, and LOVE to Gene. And to the many friends who would bring Gene food, take him places, and just visit, THANK YOU!

A celebration of Gene's life will be held at a later date.
