Frank Peter Prezkop, 89, of
Hurley, Wis., died peacefully Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, with his loving family
by his side, at Westgate Nursing, Rehabilitation and Assisted Living Community
in Ironwood. He was born July 8, 1924, in Ironwood, to the late Peter and
Mary (Pahucki) Prezkop, and attended A.L. Norrie Grade School and Luther L.
Wright High School. He worked in the Penokee Mine and at Schult Mobile Homes,
and was employed at Ahonen Lumber Co. for many years, retiring due to a
disability in the mid-1980s. Frank was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hurley and
AARP. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting in his earlier years. A
wonderful husband, father and grandfather, he will be dearly missed.
On July 28, 1951, Frank was married to the former Lenore A.
Panizza at St. Mary's Church in Hurley by the late Monsignor Michael Prock. She
survives. Also surviving are two sons, Michael (Patricia), Punta Gorda,
Fla., and Frank, Hurley; three grandchildren, Tanya, Douglas and Cole Prezkop;
and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother,
Alphonse; and sisters, Genevieve Pachmayer, Regina Weaver and Bertha
Pasqualucci. Per Frank's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Nov.
26, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary's Church in Hurley, with the Rev. Paul Pare OFM,
celebrant. Rite of Committal and interment will be in St. Mary's
Cemetery, Hurley, in the spring. Arrangements have been entrusted to McKevitt-Patrick Funeral
