It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father,
Donald Joseph Kessler, 91. He passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023.
Born on December 19, 1931, in Mosinee, Wisconsin, Donald was the son
of Joseph and Ida Kessler. He grew up in Springstead, Wisconsin, and
attended Springstead School. He enlisted in the United States Army in
1952 and was honorably discharged in 1954. He worked as a molder for
Simpson Electric Company for 47 years before retiring.
On July 12, 1952, Donald married Marie Babic. He was a devoted family
Man and a loving father and grandfather. He had five children, five
grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly. He
loved spending time with his family and would often tell stories about
his childhood experiences.
Donald liked helping others and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed
fishing, gardening, camping, and crushing cans. He loved nature and
feeding the animals that wandered into his yard.
Donald is predeceased by his wife, Marie, his parents, Joseph and Ida,
and his sisters Hilda Rindfleisch, Dorothy Tryba, Margaret Vanish, Betty
Crawford, and Darlene Cartwright.
He is survived by his sisters, Anna Meyer - Springstead, WI and Adeline Vick - Wausau, WI; his five children, Sandra Breese (John) - Huntingdon, TN; Donna Chaney (Greg) - Mosinee, WI, Ronald Kessler (Jeanne) - Wauwatosa, WI, Shirley Kessler - Mercer, WI, and Roger Kessler-Weston, WI; and his five grandchildren, Steven Chaney (Erin) - Wausau, WI, Tori Sleight - Henderson, NV, Tanya Sweet (Brian) - Long Island, NY, Tiffany Burnett - Weston, WI, and Brandon Kessler - Arbor Vitae, WI.
Donald Joseph Kessler will be deeply missed, but his memory will live
on through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held next year for friends and family.--
