Obituary

Dennis E. Novascone, 80, of Ironwood passed away on June 17, 2021, at Aspirus Ironwood Hospital. Dennis was born March 31, 1941, in Ironwood, the son of Emil and Kathryn (Jurakovich) Novascone. He graduated from A. D. Johnson High School in Bessemer, Michigan in 1959. He served in the U.S. Army from November 1963 until 'August 1965. He married Carol McRae on September 29, 1979. He worked at Indianhead Ski Hill for 49 years as the Food and Beverage Manager. Dennis was a good family man and had many good friends. Dennis is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, Chad (Jill) Novascone of Ironwood and Scott Novascone of Bessemer; daughter, Maria (Brian) Lindberg of Green Bay, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Alyssa and Spencer Kitzman of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Ciara, Bethany and Isabella Novascone and Jaelyn and Jace Novascone; brother, Tom Novascone of Bessemer; sisters, Ginny Novascone of Ironwood and Bella Novascone (Roy Contratto) of Bessemer; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dave and Cindy McRae of Ironwood, Tom and Carol McRae of Ironwood, Dennis and Mary McRae of Ironwood, Kelly and Jeanne McRae of Howell, Michigan, Brian and Jackie McRae of Trinity, North Carolina, Sue and Jerry Anderson of Ironwood and Peggy and Steve Bryant of Wasilla, Alaska; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Kathryn Novascone, and his brother-in-law, Jim "Boomer" McRae. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 30th at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood at 11 am with Fr. Binu Joseph as celebrant, preceded by a visitation from 9:30 until the time of the Mass. The family has chosen Ketola-Burla Funeral Home of Ironwood to honor Dennis's legacy of life.
