Deidre Ann Khoury, 61, of 515 E. Vaughn St., Ironwood, died Saturday evening, July 25, 2009, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, Minn. The former Deidre Ann Zirzow was born Dec. 23, 1947, in Cook County, Illinois, daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Molbeck) Zirzow, and graduated from Wilmot High School in 1965. She was manager of Toomey's Bar in Bergland, Mich. for several years, and enjoyed meeting new people and spending time with her many friends. Deidre had a good sense of humor, and enjoyed fishing and walks with her dog Max. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was very proud of their accomplishments. She was a very loving mother and grandmother. Surviving are her daughter, Amy (Todd) Hamel, and son, Abe Khoury, both of Ironwood; grandsons, Austin and Kevin Dishneau; and brothers, Skip (Barb) Zirzow, Friendship, Wis., and Todd (Victoria) Zirzow, Silver Lake, Wis. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Zirzow, and sister, Vivian Stone. In accordance with Deidre's wishes, cremation has taken place. Graveside services and committal will be held Saturday, Aug. 1, at 11 a.m. EDT, in Lakeside Cemetery, Bergland, with the Rev. Ted Trudgeon, officiating. Inurnment will follow.
