David A. Juntti, 81, of South
Geneva Road, Bessemer Township, Mich., died Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at Aspirus
Comfort Care Hospice House in Wausau. He was born Jan. 19, 1932, in West Salem,
Wis., son of the late Oscar and Margaret (Trimble) Juntti, and graduated from West Salem
High School in 1949. He then was employed on a farm, worked in a canning factory
and on a tobacco farm, and was employed as a gandy dancer on the railroad. He
also worked at White Pine Copper Co. for 25 years, owned and operated the Mt.
Zion Bar in Ironwood, Mich., and retired as a sawyer in 1994. Dave was active in range area bowling,
dartball and dart leagues, and was an all around handyman. He especially enjoyed
fishing and pitching horseshoes. He was very special to his family and friends
and will be greatly missed. He was married to Alison Stanlake Heffner on
Dec. 26, 1991. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Mike (Darcy)
Juntti, Bruce Crossing, Mich., Julie Niece, Hastings, Neb., Mark (Melanie)
Juntti, Muskogee, Okla., Mary (Dave) Jasper, Cordova, Ill., and Evelyn Juntti,
Bessemer, Mich.; stepchildren, Caine (Edie Juech) Heffner and Seth (Amy)
Heffner, both of Wausau, Jared (Jackie) Heffner, Rothschild, and Daysha (Karl)
Wrege, Ashland; grandchildren, Derek Juntti, Paul Niece, Markka, Zak, McKenna
and Cameron Juntti, Nicole and Samantha Friedli, Amber Juntti, Jacob and Caleb
Heffner, Skylar and Layne Heffner, Ysabel, Olivia and Zachary David Heffner,
Aric Schulz and Brianna Wrege; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank
Juntti, Lansing, Mich.; two sisters, Connie Poterek, Claire, Mich., and Cynthia
(Wes) Perttula, California; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Dave was preceded in
death by two daughters, Gail Juntti and infant daughter, Susan Juntti; his first
wife, the former Laura Dellies; a brother, George Juntti; and sister, Venla
Selaty. Out of respect for his wishes, cremation has
taken place and no formal services will be held. A private family gathering will be held to
celebrate Dave's life at a later date. Condolences may be given online at
