Obituary

Courtney Lyn "Kiki" Miller, 22, of Mercer, died early Saturday morning, Sept. 1, 2007, in Mercer, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Fisher Lake Rd. in Mercer. She was born July 19, 1985, in Kenosha, the daughter of Allan and Linda (Irick) Miller. She attended Jane Vernon Elementary School and Lincoln Junior High School in Kenosha, and graduated from Mercer High School with the Class of 2003. Courtney worked at a lodge in Ketchikan, Alaska for five months, and was employed as a cashier at Certegy Game Cash in Lac du Flambeau and also as a waitress and bartender at Beaver Lodge in Mercer up until the time of her death. Playing volleyball was Courtney's passion, and she also enjoyed cheerleading and loved to dance and sing. Courtney loved life and loved her family; she was one of her daddy's little girls. Surviving are her parents, Allan and Linda "Lin" Miller, of Mercer; her brother, Benjamin (Melissa), Prescott; four sisters, Tracy Tomany, Mercer; Jami, Kenosha; Kerri (Richard) Strickland, Pleasant Prairie; and Meagan Miller, Mercer; numerous, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and many friends that she considered family. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 6, at 11 a.m., at the Mercer United Methodist Church in Mercer, with the Rev. Larry Olson, officiating. Committal services and interment will follow in the Mercer Cemetery. A luncheon will be served in the church fellowship hall immediately upon return from the cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. Pallbearers will be Josh Arnold, Clint, Erik, In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred in Courtney's name for a scholarship to be established at the Mercer High School.
