IRONWOOD, Mich.- Charlotte Jacquart Leaf, 90,
of Ironwood, died peacefully Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Westgate Nursing,
Rehabilitation, and Assisted Living Community in Ironwood, after a long battle
with Alzheimer's disease. She was born Charlotte Marian Morris on Feb.
16, 1922, in Hurley, Wis., the second of five daughters of John and Hildegaard
Morris. She graduated from J.E. Murphy High School in Hurley and then worked for
a short time in Milwaukee before returning home. She was then employed as a
telephone operator by Michigan Bell until the Ironwood exchange closed in 1964.
Beginning that same year, she was the catalog department manager at the Ironwood
Sears-Roebuck store, and remained there until moving away in 1971. She married Glen G. Jacquart in 1946 and they
made their home in Ironwood. Glen died unexpectedly in 1969. In 1971, Charlotte married Robert D. Leaf of
Lansing, Mich. where they resided for many years until retiring to Ruskin,
Fla., and later, Hickory, N.C. Robert preceded her in death in 2005. She was also preceded in death by her sisters,
Jacqueline (John) Doyle, Anna May (Eugene) Taccolini, Margaret (Carl) Erickson
and Claire (Lloyd) Buccanero; and her granddaughter, Lisa Jean
Jacquart. She is survived by her sons, Thomas and
Richard Jacquart of Ironwood; her grandson, Justin Jacquart of L'anse; and
great-granddaughter, Emily Jacquart of Ontonagon. At her request, cremation has taken
place. A private service will be held at a later
