Charlene M. Aimone, 61, of
Hurley, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Golden Living Center-Court Manor in
Ashland. The former Charlene Lindberg was born Jan. 19,
1952, in Ironwood, Mich., daughter of the late James and Henna Mae ((Lake)
Lindberg, attended Hurley schools, and graduated from J.E. Murphy High School in
1970. She was married to Gary J. Aimone on April 27,
1974, at Salem Lutheran Church in Ironwood, by the Rev. Gary Park. Charlene was employed as a clerk at Carlson's
Super Market and Jack's Food Shop in Ironwood, as assistant manager at
McDonald's, check-out clerk at Copp's Foods in Hurley, and part-time postal
clerk at the Gile Post Office. She was an avid reader, loved hunting and fishing
on the Gile Flowage with her husband, was an excellent cook and baker, and was
a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Ironwood. A loving wife, mother and
grandmother, she will be deeply missed. Surviving are her husband, Gary, of 38 years;
two daughters, Jillian Aimone, Kewaskum, and Megan (Ted) Swanson, Hermantown,
Minn.; four grandchildren, Isaac, Noah, Mary Katherine and Gabriella; a brother,
Donald Lindberg; mother-in-law, Shirley Aimone, and aunt, Jeanette Fredrickson,
both of Ironwood; and brothers-and-sisters-in-law, Susan and Mike Piazza, Lake
Tomahawk, Joel and Joellen Aimone, Florida, and John and Tina Aimone,
Woodruff. Besides her parents, Charlene was preceded in
death by a brother, Henry Lindberg. Cremation has taken place. Private family services will be held at a
