Carol Novascone, 69, of Ironwood, passed away at her home on Friday, May 10, 2024.
Carol was born on June 27, 1954, to John and Doris (Nelson) McRae. She attended schools in Ironwood and graduated from L.L. Wright High School. She was united in marriage on September 29, 1979, to Dennis E. Novascone.
She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood.
Carol always had a crochet or knitting project going and would always have a stockpile for you to go pick out whatever you needed. She was famous for making her rigatoni's for family functions and always made way more than what was needed so everyone had some to take home. She always made sure she had "snacks" available for when you visited. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She will be missed by all of her family and friends beyond measure.
Carol is survived by her son Chad (Jill) Ironwood, step-son Scott, Bessemer, and step-daughter Maria, Green Bay, WI Also grandchildren Jaelyn and Jace, Ironwood, Ciara, Bethany, and Isabella Novascone, Grand Rapids MI, Alyssa Kitzman, Marinette WI and Spencer Kitzman, Green Bay.
Also surviving are sisters Sue (Jerry) Anderson, Ironwood MI, and Peggy (Steve) Bryant, Wasilla AK. Brothers Dave (Cindy) McRae, Tom (Carol) McRae, Ironwood MI, Kelly (Jeannie) McRae, Howell, MI, Brian (Jackie) McRae, Trinity NC and Dennis (Mary) McRae, Ironwood MI. Sister-in-laws Bella (Roy) Contratto, Bessemer, Ginny Novascone, Ironwood, and brother-in-law Tom Novascone, Bessemer. She also had numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dennis in 2021; and her brother, Jim "Boomer" McRae.
Visitation for Carol will be held on June 29, 2024, from 8 am to the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Father Brian Gerber officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood.
