Bret A. Bretall, 43, of 128 So. Mansfield St., Ironwood, died unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, in Wakefield. He was born Jan. 14, 1966 in Ironwood, son of the late Allan and Mary (Rivard) Bretall, attended Central Grade School, and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1984. He then served stateside in the U.S. Army for one year. Following his honorable discharge, Bret returned to Ironwood and worked in the woods with his dad, was employed as an auto mechanic at Sass Tire & Auto, and worked as a chef at Tacconelli's Downtown for many years. At the time of his death, he was a chef at Club 28 in Wakefield. His interests included golfing, NASCAR racing, football, reading and watching movies. BRET'S WORK WAS HIS FAMILY. Surviving are a brother, Danny (Cathy)O'Rourke, Haslett; three sisters, Patricia (Carl) Lugviel, Quincy, Fla., Beth (Scott) Bordner, Montreal, Wis., and Blythe (Mark) Foster, Appleton, Wis.; and two nieces and one nephew, Cassandra Bordner, Montreal, and Marissa and Mitchell Weber, both of Appleton. Besides his parents, Bret was preceded in death by a sister, Brigitte Bretall. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 9, at 11 a.m., at the McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home, 305 N. Lowell St. Ironwood with the Rev. Bo Baumeister, officiating. A luncheon reception will follow at Taconelli's in downtown Ironwood. Cremation will take place. Private committal and inurnment will be in Sunset Acres Cemetery, Ironwood Township. Relatives and friends may call at the the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.
