Bonnie Lee DeFelice, 58, of 214 W. Pewabic St., Ironwood, died unexpectedly Sunday afternoon, July 5, 2009, with her family by her side, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, Minn., following heart valve replacement surgery. She was born April 5, 1951, in Ironwood, the daughter of Helen (Savonen) and the late Armand DeFelice. She attended Newport Grade School, and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1969. Bonnie then attended Gogebic Community College and Northland College in Ashland,WI. Bonnie worked with her family in the family business, D&B Freight Sales, in downtown Ironwood for many years, and for Kathy Richards Management for one year. She was currently employed as a sales clerk at Forslund Building Supply Inc. in Ironwood, where she was known as "The Paint Lady." Bonnie was a member and past president of the Auxiliary to Armand H. DeFelice VFW Post 1823 of Ironwood and was also a member of the Grandview Hospital Auxiliary. She was an ardent animal lover and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Surviving are her daughter, Jaimie Arias, and two grandchildren, Natalie and Guillermo Arias, all of Victoria, Minn.; her mother, Helen DeFelice, Ironwood; a brother, Eugene (Tami) DeFelice, Bessemer; two sisters, Diana "DeeDee" (Jim) Lorenson, Ironwood, and Amanda (Peter) Nickel, Brooklyn Park, Minn.; special friend and longtime companion, Jimmer Jenkins, Ironwood; her loving pet, her dachshund, "JJ"; numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 9, at 11 a.m., at the McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home, 305 N. Lowell St., in Ironwood, with the Rev. Michael Hayden, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hurley, officiating. Committal will take place at the funeral home, with a luncheon reception to follow at Tacconelli's in downtown Ironwood. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the HOPE Animal Shelter, P.O.
