Blanche E. Lupino, 93, of
Hurley, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in
Wausau. The former Blanche Lentine was born March 20,
1919, in Waukegan, Ill., daughter of the late Joseph and Pauline (Stallone)
Lentine, and attended Glenflora School and Waukegan High School. She married Joe Lupino on Sept. 16, 1939, at
St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Waukegan. They then lived in Ironwood, Mich.
before moving to Hurley in 1952. Joe preceded Blanche in death on July 8,
1996. Blanche was a member of St. Mary's Catholic
Church in Hurley and sang in the church choir for over ten years. She was also a 17-year volunteer at the Iron Co. Senior Center
in Hurley and was a major b iscotti maker. A wonderful mom, grandma and
great-grandma, Blanche will be deeply missed. Surviving are a son, John (Camille), Ironwood;
daughter, Pauline (Dr. Ken) Day, Wausau; three grandchildren, Anthony Lupino
(Erica Tauer), Ironwood, Marissa (Greg) Carter, Havre de Grace, Md., and Gina
(Kevin) Cornell, Wausau; two great-grandchildren, Isabella Cornell and Matthew
Lupino; sister, Antonette Gamberalle, Waukegan; sister-in-law, Franca Lupino,
Hurley; numerous nieces and nephews; and longtime companion, John Cattelino,
Hurley. Besides her parents and husband, she was
preceded in death by a son, Joseph, in 1949; two brothers, Dominic and John
Lentine; and two sisters, Josephine Zupec and Elizabeth Gont. Per Blanche's wishes, cremation has taken
place. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's
Catholic Church in Hurley, with the Rev. Frank Kordek OFM,
celebrant. Luncheon will follow in the parish
hall. Rite of Committal and interment will be in St.
Mary's Cemetery, Hurley, in the spring. Condolences may be given to Blanche's family
