Beverly J. Conley, 70, of 5608N E. Echo Lake Rd., Mercer, died
Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at Comfort Care and Hospice Service, Aspirus Wausau
Hospital, in Wausau, following her courageous battle with Alzheimer's
diesase. The former Beverly Colgin was born Oct. 23,
1939, in Wakefield, Mich., daughter of the late George and June (Bailey) Colgin,
and graduated from Wakefield High School in 1957. She worked at Simpson Electric Co. in Mercer
for 20 years (from 1978-1998) before retiring. She was a girl scout leader. She loved to
read, do jigsaw puzzles, crafts, camping and bonfires, and, most of all, she
loved being with her family and friends. Bev was a wonderful wife, mother and
grandmother, and will be deeply missed. On Dec. 23, 1961, she was married to Harvey J.
Conley at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wakefield. He survives. Also surviving are a son, Thomas (Julie),
Marinette; a daughter, Terri (Jon) Nortman, Ringle; two grandchildren, Emily and
Megan Conley; a brother, Roger (JoAnn) Colgin, Bessemer, Mich;
brothers-and-sisters-in-law, John and Donna Conley, Wakefield, and Clayton and
Joyce Conley, Marenisco, Mich.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death
by a sister, Roberta Pingel. Out of respect for Beverly's wishes, cremation
has taken place. A memorial service will be held Monday, Dec.
7, at 11 a.m., at the McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home, 305 N. Lowell St., in
Ironwood, with the Rev. officiating. Spring inurnment will be in the Mercer
Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral
home one hour prior to the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to
