Betty Jane (Antonino) Rainaldo, born on December 31, 1934, to the late Frank and Signe (Peterson) Antonino, passed away on May 28, 2026, at the age of 91, at Rennes Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Weston, WI, with family by her side.
Betty is an Ironwood Luther L. Wright graduate of 1952 and worked as a phone operator for 3 years post-graduation. She was a member of St. Mary's Parish in Hurley.
On August 20, 1955, Betty married Robert Lee Reinaldo at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Ironwood. They lived in Hurley and had seven children in the subsequent years.
Betty was the most kindhearted, caring person, who always made everyone feel at home and important. As a testament to her curiosity and interest in people, she had an amazing ability to remember people's names after meeting them once or twice, and retained this ability right up until her passing. Not only did she remember people's names, but also their children, grandchildren, and often their pets. This interest extended not only to friends and family, but also to various people like the numerous aides who worked at her assisted living community, for whom Betty always had a polite "thank you" and a treat from her candy bowl.
Betty loved to bake and was famous for her overwhelming variety and volume of holiday cookies, with her children and their friends often still enjoying leftover "Christmas" cookies from the freezer around Easter time.
Betty loved life to the fullest and had many adventures. She loved to travel, and prior to having children, she and Bob went on numerous road trips across the country with friends. She's been on multiple cruises, additional road trips, and overseas travel to Rome and the Netherlands throughout the following years. At 80 years old, she went zip-lining over a forest in the Bahamas, smiling the whole way.
Betty loved to read, especially crime-related books, both fictional and non-fiction. She also loved the Green Bay Packers, a strong drink (Manhattans and Old Fashioneds), and her casino trips with her siblings, nieces and nephews, and good friends. Betty was always ready to have, in her words, "F-U-N".
But her big heart was first and foremost for her family, her seven children, fourteen grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was our beautiful mom, our friend, our confidant, and the biggest, truest blessing in our lives. We love and miss her dearly.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, in-laws Leo and Sylvia Rainaldo, granddaughter Lisa Marie Kolesar, great-grandson Erik Klemm, sister and brother-in- law Carol and Nick Pavlovich, brother and sister-in-law Robert and Kaye Antonino, brother and sister-in-law James and Rita Reinaldo, and brother-in-law Fr. John Rainaldo.
She is survived by her children Sharon (James) Kolesar, Linda (Lon) Rundquist, Marcia (Luke) Stauffer, Janet (Jeff) Leinon, Lisa (James) Sobolewski, Robert (Kacy) Rainaldo, Scott (Corina) Rainaldo, her sister and brother-in-law Mary and Bob Hendrickson, and numerous very beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Betty will take place on Friday, July 3, 2026, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mike Hill officiating at McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home in Ironwood. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hurley.
