Obituary

Beth J. Oelke-Olson, 49, of Ashland, Wis., and formerly of Mercer, Wis., died Tuesday morning, July 24, 2007, at Court Manor Nursing Home in Ashland. She was born Feb. 6, 1958, in Prairie Du Chien, Wis., daughter of the late Roger and Mary (Meade) Oelke, raised in West Bend, Wis., and attended school there. She moved to Mercer in 1981, where she was employed at Simpson Electric Co. for 20 years, retiring due to ill health and residing in Ashland since 2004. Beth loved going for rides and being outdoors. She enjoyed fishing on the Mississippi River in her younger years, and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Mercer. She was married to Louis Uhrmann for five years and then to Darrell Olson for 17 years. He survives. Also surviving are a son, David S. Uhrmann, Minocqua, Wis.; two daughters, Ashley Uhrmann (Scott Groshek), Rosholt, Wis.; and Jami (Patrick) Santini, Hartford, Wis.; four grandchildren, Noah Santini, Adara Hart-Uhrmann, and Olivia and Lucas Groshek; a stepson, Matt (Angie) Hastreiter, Blaine, Minn.; a stepdaughter, Alena Olson, Cambridge, Ohio; three step-grandchildren, Austin Olson, and Joshua and Kaitlyn Hastreiter; a brother, Roger Oelke, Cascade, Wis.; a sister, Tammy (Dennis) Liepert, West Bend, Wis; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and her father-and-mother-in-law, Bud and Janet Georgi, and brothers-and-sisters-in-law, Jeff Minton, Rita and Doug Wellman, and Inger and John Donovan, all of Mercer. Besides her parents, Beth was preceded in death by a sister, Terry Oelke. In accordance with Beth's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 28, at 11 a.m., at Faith Lutheran Church in Mercer, with the Rev. Dr. Gary Uttech, pastor, officiating. A luncheon reception will follow at the Mercer Senior Center from 12 to 3 p.m. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
