Bernadette A. "Dolly" Tomasin, 86, of 512 Poplar St., Hurley, died Sunday, June 21, 2009, in Ironwood. The former Bernadette Baruzzi was born Feb. 23, 1923, in Hurley, daughter of the late Vincenzio and Santa (Pasquasio) Baruzzi, attended Hurley schools, and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1941. She then attended nursing school at Loyola University in Chicago and was employed as a registered nurse at San Diego General Hospital in San Diego, Calif. as well as in other locales, retiring and returning to Hurley in the early 1980's. She married William C. "Bill" Tomasin in Hurley in 1946. He preceded her in death on June 13, 2009. Surviving are a brother-in-law, Joe B. Tomasin, of Milton; and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and one great-great niece. Besides her parents, Dolly was preceded in death by her brother, Victor Baruzzi. Combined graveside committal services for Bill and Dolly will be held Friday, June 26, at 9 a.m., at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hurley, with the Rev. Michael Hayden, officiating. Interment will follow.
