Barbara Ann (Broemer) Anttila, 74 lifelong resident of Ontonagon, passed away at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital on Wednesday December 27,2017with family by her side. She was born in Ontonagon,Michigan on January 22,1943. To the late Frank and Mable Broemer. Barb graduated from Ontonagon high school class of 1961. She later obtained her CENA certification. Barb was employed by Ontonagon Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 2000. On August 1, 2010 she married William P. Anttila at her home in Ontonagon. The couple resided in Mass City and Ontonagon. Barb is survived by her husband, William; her children, Glenda Szkrybalo of Howell, Mich, Jake Piirala of Pinckney, Mich, Beth (Chuck) Immonen of Ontonagon, Mich; her brother, Howard (Nancy )Broemer of Marquette Mich. Preceded in death by her sister Bonnie. Also survived by her grandchildren, Ayecee (John) McCaw, Shelby (Tad) Wheeler, Terra Szkrybalo, Jacob Szkrybalo, William Piirala, Michael Immonen, April (Jake)Warren; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Barb enjoyed being a part of her church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Barb loved watching the waves and sunsets on Lake Superior, sewing and knitting. Following cremation a memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at 3pm. Pastors'' Ted Trudgeon and Jay Welshonse co-celebrating At St. Paul Lutheran church in Mass City. Visitation 2-3pm, luncheon to follow in the church hall.
