Angela Kay
Kostopolus
October 26, 1958 – April 22, 2026
Angela Kay Kostopolus, 67, of Ironwood, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the Aspirus Ironwood Hospital.
Angela was born the only daughter of Omar and Betty (Pospeck) Rigoni on October 26, 1958, in Ironwood. Angela grew up with four brothers, so she quickly learned her way around the kitchen, often helping her mother make meals for the family. She also helped tend to the family garden, which was where she got her green thumb and love for planting flowers, her favorites being lilac bushes and peonies.
Angela attended Luther L. Wright High School, then attended Gogebic Community College, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in both food service and accounting. She worked as a cook and food service worker for a large portion of her life, as she always enjoyed making food for people.
She enjoyed reading above all else; she was almost always reading something. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting, strategy and trivia games, as well as card games. She also loved watching old movies, a pastime she got from her father, since they used to watch them together often.
Angela was preceded in death by her father and mother, Omar and Betty Rigoni, and her brothers David Rigoni, Florian Rigoni, and Daniel Rigoni.
She is survived by her brother, William Rigoni, her son, Jason Erickson, and her three daughters, Nicole (Erickson) Nelson, Amber Kostopolus, and Constance Kostopolus. She is loved beyond measure and will be severely missed by all those who have survived her.
