Amelia C. "Millie" Sederholm, 89, of Ironwood, died Sunday, April 27, 2008, in Ironwood. The former Amelia Smalko was born Aug. 26, 1918, in Ironwood, daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Smorada) Smalko, attended Ironwood public schools, and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1935. She worked in Chicago for a short time, and was employed at OK Auto Parts in Ironwood for several years. She retired as credit manager at Sears-Roebuck & Co. in downtown Ironwood in 1974. Millie was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood and a former member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was an excellent cook and baker, enjoyed knitting, and, along with her grandson Greg, was an avid Chicago Bears fan. A devoted grandma, she dearly loved her grandsons, Bob and Greg. On Sept. 11, 1948, she married Lester J. Sederholm at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Ironwood. He preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1973. Surviving are her daughter, Susanne Marie (Bill) Sikonia, Erwin Township; two grandsons, Bob (Dawn) Sikonia, Ironwood, and Greg Sikonia, Bloomington, Minn.; three step-grandsons, William J. (Mary) Sikonia, Weston, Wis., Carl L. (Valarie) Sikonia, Chesapeake, VA., and Steven (Sharon) Sikonia, Oxnard, Calif.; two sisters, Anne Wesolowski and Helen Perotti, both of Ironwood; a special niece and her family, Sharon (Steven) Sikonia and Steven Michael, all of Oxnard; and her special deceased nephew John Pietrocatelli's family, Judy Pietrocatelli, Tony (Amanda), Jayson and Vanaya Pietrocatelli and Josh Pietrocatelli, all of Ironwood, and Doris (Mark) Stempihar and Kayla, Racine, Wis. Besides her parents and husband, Millie was preceded in death by her brother, John Smalko, sister, Mary Anderson, special nephew, John Pietrocatelli, and brothers-in-law, John Wesolowski, Albert Perotti and Leonard Anderson. Out of respect for Millie's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 3, at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood, with the Rev. Darryl Pepin, celebrant. Rite of Committal will take place in the St. Joseph Family Room at the church, with luncheon to follow in the parish hall. Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood, later this spring. Relatives and friends may call in the St. Joseph Family Room at the church one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday.
