Amelia “Penny” Jacisin, 84, of Ironwood, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.
Penny was born on February 20, 1942, in Ironwood to John M. and Amelia “Milly” D. (Kubacki) Magdziak. She was a 1960 graduate of Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood. On November 9, 1961, she was united in marriage to John Joseph Jacisin, and together they raised three children.
After dedicating many years to raising her family, Penny worked at Ironwood Plastics and Ironwood Astronautics.
Penny enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially sitting outdoors and tending to her flower gardens. She looked forward to attending Music in the Park with her friends and generously volunteered her time at the St. Vincent de Paul Store. Above all, Penny cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and beloved dog.
Penny is survived by her three children, Anita Jacisin, John (Cheryl) Jacisin, and Michael (Donna) Jacisin; three grandsons, John III, Joseph (Elizabeth), and Logan; her lifelong friend, Donna Erickson; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, John; her mother, Milly; her husband, John; and her stepfather, Joseph Kniska; and her sister, Jacueline Pulson.
Visitation for Penny will take place on Friday, June 12, from 10 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 11 a.m., officiated by Fr. Brian Gerber at McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home in Ironwood, with a celebration of her life to follow at Sharron’s Café in Hurley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Penny's name may be directed to HOPE Animal Shelter.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Aspirus Hospice, especially Angela Hannu, as well as Penny's many friends and neighbors for their kindness, care, and support.
