Mercer & Hurley
Allan “Joe” Robinson, 74, of Mercer, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Aspirus Ironwood Hospital.
Joe was born on August 18, 1952, in Ironwood, to Sylvester “Robby” and Janet (Sunie) Robinson. He was a 1971 graduate of J.E. Murphy High School. Following high school, Joe enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served in Vietnam before receiving his honorable discharge. He later dedicated his career to serving his community as a deputy sheriff with the Iron County Sheriff’s Department, retiring after many years of service.
Joe was united in marriage with Jackye Lambert on June 25, 2005. Together, they shared many wonderful years and cherished time with their family.
Joe was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hurley and the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 529 of Ironwood & Hurley. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. Most recently, Joe enjoyed hanging out in the garage with his "one time" brothers. Above all, Joe treasured the time he spent with his family and the memories they made together.
Joe is survived by his wife, Jackye; two daughters, Hope (Tom) Marcon of Onalaska and Sarah (Todd) Kraft of Ashland; step-children, Ashlye (Brian) Klug and Joey (Karly) Lambert; grandchildren, Tatum, Xavier, Bianca, Sawyer, Colton, Levi, Aria, Tatum, Isla, Wesley, and Kinley; and his sister, Kathy Vallejo; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Joey Robinson; grandson, Spencer Robinson; and two brothers, Randy and Paul Robinson.
Burial for Joe and his son, Joey, will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hurley. A celebration of Joe’s life will take place at Nora’s Lounge in Hurley from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
