Alice E. Ansami, 94, of
Saxon, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital
in Oconomowoc, while visiting her daughter's family to celebrate her 94th
birthday. The former Alice Peterson was born April 12,
1918, in Saxon, daughter of the late John and Lisa (Carlson) Peterson. She was
raised on a small dairy farm in Saxon and attended the Simon School
there. On June 18, 1938, she married Waino H. Ansami
at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ironwood, Mich. He preceded her in death on Aug.
26, 1990. Alice was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church
in Ironwood, where she was formerly active in the Ladies Aid and the Lutheran
Women's Missionary League. She enjoyed playing Scrabble with her family members, working crossword
puzzles, and loved cooking, baking, flower gardening and washing and hanging out
clothes right up until her final days. She also was an avid Brewers
fan. Surviving are three sons, Marvin, Ironwood,
and Ralph and Jim, Saxon; a daughter, Judy (Jim) Braatz, Oconomowoc; five
grandchildren, Lisa Braatz (Mike), Leah Braatz, Steven Braatz (Jaci), and Kayla
and Jacob Ansami; six great-grandchildren, Ben, Mitchell, Hayli, Aiden, Tanner
and Miranda; sisters-in-law, Ida Holm, Hurley, Florence Auger, Mullan, Idaho,
and LaVerne Leverick, Arlington Heights, Ill.; numerous nieces, nephews and
cousins; and a host of friends. Besides her parents and husband, Alice was
preceded in death by brothers, Hilding, Elmer, Carl and Walter Peterson; and
sisters, Hildegarde Mattson, Hulda Oman, Agnes Lahti and Elsie
Anderson. Funeral services will be held Friday, April
20, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 9:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran
Church, 5104 E. Margaret St., in Ironwood, with parish assistant Larry
Oehlerking officiating. Luncheon will follow in the church fellowship
hall. Committal and interment will then take place
in Lakeview Cemetery, Saxon. Pallbearers will be Marvin, Ralph, Jim and
Jacob Ansami, Jim and Steven Braatz, and Ben and Mitchell Branski. Alice's obituary can be viewed online and
