Adele "Kappy" Radakovich, 94, of Ironwood, died
Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal
Falls. She was born April 26, 1918, in Ironwood,
the daughter of the late Matt and Theresa (Adaca) Kapitan. She attended Ironwood
schools, and graduated from Gogebic Community College in May 1974. She was
employed by the Lake Superior District Power Co. until her retirement in July
1978. On July 29, 1944, Adele married Matt Marusich
of Wakefield. He preceded her in death in May 1949. She then married James Radakovich of Upson,
Wis. on Sept. 2, 1950. He preceded her in death on April 22, 1965. Surviving are a son, Peter, of Iron Mountain;
a daughter, Patricia Marusich Brozak, Crystal Falls; four grandchildren, John
(Britt) Brozak and Joseph Brozak, both of Crystal Falls, James (Christy) Brozak,
Pulaski, Wis., and Amy Radakovich, Mountain View, Calif.; three
great-grandchildren, Owen, McKenzie and Tyler Brozak; sisters-in-law, Shirley
Kapitan, Ironwood, and Mil Watson, Kingwood, Texas; and many nieces and
nephews. Besides her parents and husbands, Adele was
preceded in death by a brother, William Kapitan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
Thursday, Sept. 6, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation in the St. Joseph Family
Room at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood, with the Rev.
Robb Jurkovich, celebrant. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in
Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood. Luncheon will be served in the parish hall
immediately upon return from the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to
the Our Lady of Peace Adopt-A-Student Program, 108 S. Marquette St., Ironwood,
