Obituary for William Vaughan

William L. "Bill" Vaughan, 72, of Hurley, formerly of Mundelein, IL, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017 at his home. He was born April 8, 1944 in Palatine, Illinois, the son of the late Anna (Mecklenberg) Vaughan. Bill spent the majority of his life in Illinois. In 1967 he became the proud owner and operator of Vaughan''s Broasted Chicken in Mundelein, IL, with other satellite locations in Lake County. On September 16, 1995 he married Jerrie (Lafin) Rouse in Hebron, IL. Following his retirement he and Jerrie moved to Green Bay, WI for a few years and settled in Hurley, WI in 2006. Bill enjoyed 4-wheeling, cooking, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Bill is survived by his wife, Jerrie; his daughters, Nancy (Glen) Stevenson of Rockwall, TX, Elizabeth (Joseph) Ambrose of Hainesville, IL, Denise (Christopher) Wasik of McHenry, IL; and Cindy (Jerry Johnson) of Montreal, WI; his son, Brian (Jill) Rouse of Green Bay, WI; his grandchildren, Tessa (Devan Keesling), Jessica (Ryan Martin), Daniel, Aiden, Carlie, Mac, Brent, Shelby, Evan, and Jerzy; two sisters, JoAnne Valentine and Susie Shattuck, both of Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Terry Campbell. Please join us for a Celebration of Bill''s life from 3 - 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Emil''s, 604 N.
