Obituary for Viola A. Hautala

Viola A. Hautala, 89, of Plover
and Hurley, passed away Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at Whispering Pines Assisted
Living Center in Plover.      She was born Jan. 14, 1921, in Hurley, the
daughter of the late Berardino (Fred) and Antoinella (Giancola) Santini. Viola
attended St. Mary's Grade School and graduated from Hurley High School in 1938.
She received a diploma from Jackson Business University of Jackson, Mich. in
1939 and started working for the Ironwood Daily Globe. She also worked for many
years at the Iron County Welfare Department and the Ottawa National Forest
Service. Her marriage to Carl Hautala took place on May 18, 1946, and he
preceded her in death Nov. 14, 1986.      Viola is survived by her sons, Barry (Doris)
Hautala of Plover, Jeffrey Hautala of Hurley, Guy Hautala (Kay) of Pittsville,
and Jay (Kathy) Hautala of Oshkosh. She is also survived by eight
grandchildren.      She was preceded in death by three brothers,
Paul, Florian and Domenic Santini.      Viola's family would like to thank the staff
at Whispering Pines for their kindness and fine care over the past seven
years.      As per Viola's wishes, cremation has taken
place, and a memorial gathering will be held from 10 a.m. until noon on
Saturday, Dec. 4, at the McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home, 305 N. Lowell St., in
