Obituary for Theodore M. "Ted" Rogo

Theodore
M. "Ted" Rogo, 508 5th Ave. No., Hurley, passed away peacefully on July 14,
2011, at the age of 79, after a short time at the Seasons of Life Hospice House
in Woodruff.      Ted was born May 17, 1932
in Hurley, to Oreste and Mary (Stella) Rogo. He attended St. Mary's Grade School
and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1950. That same year, he married
J. Lenore Kangas of South Carey and they made their home in Hurley.      Ted worked for several
years at the Montreal Mine, then was the plant manager at Schult Mobile Homes
before starting his own manufacturing business, Lakeland Homes. In later years,
he was a self-employed builder. He built a beautiful home at Lake Tomahawk,
Wis., where he enjoyed spending much of his time with his family.      From an early age, Ted was
inclined to creating things. In high school, he built hydroplanes for himself
and others, and competed in races throughout the upper midwest. He also built
leisure speed boats in his earlier years for several family members. His
children and grandchildren inherited his love of boating, and enjoyed many years
on the water with him.      Ted had a lifelong love of
reading and was very astute on a variety of subjects. He engaged his family in
rigorous debates and gave history lessons, and was even able to find
solutions to many problems from knowledge he gained through voracious
reading.      Ted will always be
remembered for his kind and gentle spirit, his unassuming nature, and his deep
love for his family.      He was preceded in death
by his parents; his sister, Geraldine Pallin; his daughter, Sandra; son
Christopher; and niece, Jennifer Rossi.      He is survived by his
wife, Lenore; children, JoAnn (James) Bertagnoli, Manitowish Waters, Mark, Eau
Claire, Rachelle Nasi, St. Paul, Minn., Caroline (Brian) Emswiler, Eden Prairie,
Minn., and Alan, Ironwood, Mich.; grandchildren, Sara (fiance, Joshua Reams)
Bertagnoli, Jacob Bertagnoli, Stephanie (Zachary) Leclair, Mark Nasi, Jacqueline
(fiance, Roman Huerta) Nasi, Danielle Rogo, Alyssa Rogo, and Ryan Emswiler; his
sister, Rose Marie Rossi, Hurley; numerous nieces and nephews; and two
sister-in-laws, Florence Korpela, Hurley, and Arlene Telford,
Milwaukee.      Out of respect for Ted's
wishes, cremation has taken place.      Private graveside services
and inurnment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hurley.      Ted's obituary may be
viewed online, and condolences given to his family, at

to McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home and Cremation Services of
