Obituary for Shirley Kapitan

Shirley Kapitan, 92, Ironwood, Michigan, passed away on November 20, 2018.      Shirley was born on February 25, 1926 in Superior, Wisconsin. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Superior and the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota      In 1952 she married William “Bill” Kapitan. He preceded her in death on February 26, 2002. Shirley began her career as a teacher at Puritan School in Bessemer. She was later a substitute teacher with the Ironwood School District.      She is survived by daughters, Chantel Kapitan, Jane (Brad Dalbec) Baker and Nancy (Col. Christopher, Ret) Trouve; grandchildren,: Matthew Baker, Raymond (Gretchen) Trouve and William Trouve. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.      She was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband, Bill in 2002, her granddaughter, Erin Baker in 2014, her siste,r Mary White and sister-in-law, Adele Radakovich.      Mass of Christian Burial for Shirley will be on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 12:00pm at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood with Fr. Robb Jurkovich officiating.
