Obituary for Robert Charles "Bob" Schonberg
Bessemer – Robert (Bob) Charles Schonberg, 77, of Bessemer, Mich., passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, December 30, 2023, surrounded by his family.
He was born on March 22, 1946, in Fargo, ND, to the late Wilford and Mayme (Anderson) Schonberg. Many remember Bob by his boisterous laugh and most likely had a nickname for those he cared deeply for. He enjoyed skiing, boating, snowmobiling, riding his motorcycle, driving anywhere or everywhere, finding a good bargain, and topping it all off with a cigar. He loved his friends and would do anything he could for them, even if it meant he would go without.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Gamboni; three brothers and their wives; six sisters and husbands along with all their children; son, Tucker and Andi (Love) Schonberg; children Ben and Max; daughter, Mollie and Barry Jacobs; children Sam (Kristin), Gabe (Marilyn), Caleb, Gabe and Zoe; great-grandchildren Oliver and Ayden; Sister Jane and late Steven Chase (children: Adam and Kathryn; Duncan and Alicia (Angus and Astrid); preceded in death by his eldest sister Rhoda Johnson, with living children Lisa (Johnson) and Leo Zubryckyj (Children: Austin and Jenner), and Craig Johnson.
A Celebration of Robert’s life will be announced at a later date.
