Obituary for Paula Jean Rouse

Paula Jean Rouse, 62, of
Hurley, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, Nov. 13,
2010, in Bayfield Co.      The former Paula Jean Gerry was born Sept. 8,
1948, in Ironwood, Mich., the daughter of John and Peggy (Pedretti) Gerry. She
attended St. Mary's Grade School in Hurley, and graduated from J.E. Murphy High
School in 1966. She then attended Gogebic Community College for two years in the
business program.      She was formerly married to Joseph
Kopnick, and worked at Poor John's Cafe in Hurley, Papa's Restaurant on
Cloverland Drive in Ironwood for several years, and at the Liberty Bell
Chalet.      On May 28, 1983, Paula married Thomas G. Rouse
at the Assembly of God Church in Ironwood. She was deeply involved with her
husband, Pastor Tom, in ministry at the Lighthouse Family Church in Ironwood.
She also owned and operated Paula's Catering for the past four years, proudly
serving her specialty, homemade Italian cuisine. Her family and grandchildren were the most
important part of her life. She will be dearly missed.      Surviving are her husband, Tom, of 27 years;
seven children, stepson, Roger (Deb) Rouse, Christa (Scott) Stolz, and Joseph
Kopnick, all of Milwaukee, Heather Kopnick (Danny Inglis), Aukland, New Zealand,
Aaron Kopnick (Danielle Brady), Bessemer, Mich., Jessica (Justin) Moore,
Ironwood, and Daniel Rouse, Washington, D.C.; three grandchildren, Brittany
Tainter, Madeline Inglis and James Moore; her parents, John and Peggy Gerry,
South Carey, Hurley; brothers, Johnny (Paula) Gerry, Milwaukee, Jimmy (Deb)
Gerry, Kimball, and Dan (Paula) Gerry, South Carey; sisters, Janice Gerry, South
Carey, and Mary Beth (Jim) Merritt, Ironwood Township, Mich.; brothers-and-sisters-in-law, Bernard and Joyce
Rouse, Cadillac, Mich., Ted and Doreen Rouse, Milwaukee, Pat and Dick Salonen,
Waukesha, Bonnie and Ron Anderson, Humansville, Mo., Kay Swanner, Texas, and
Beverly and Harley Lewis, Fayetteville, Ark.; uncle, Bert Gerry, Gile; and
numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.       Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18, at the Lighthouse Family Church, 777 E.
Ayer St., in Ironwood, with Pastors Ted, Tom and Daniel Rouse
officiating.      Committal and interment will follow in the
Hurley Cemetery.      Luncheon will be served in the church
fellowship hall immediately upon return from the cemetery.      Pallbearers will be Aaron and Joseph Kopnick,
Daniel Rouse, Scott Stolz, Justin Moore, and Danny Inglis.      In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to
the Lighthouse Family Church, 777 E. Ayer St., Ironwood, Mich.
