Obituary for Patricia Ann "Pattie" Maki (Skoviera)

Patricia Ann “Pattie” Maki, age 70, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 with family and friends by her side after a 14 month battle with cancer.

Pattie was born on February 20, 1953, the daughter of Michael and Theresa Skoviera, who preceded her in going to Heaven. Pattie attended Norrie grade school and was a 1972 graduate of Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood.

Pattie worked as a cook and as a waitress and in housekeeping in many places in Ironwood and Hurley after her son’s left the nest. She enjoyed all types of crafts especially making afgans for friends and granddaughters.

On July 1, 1972, Patricia and Donald Maki were united in marriage at Holy Trinity Church in Ironwood.

Pattie is survived by her husband, Don; sons, Donald (Aysha) and Brian; granddaughters, Gabriella, Kylee, Maleah, and Savannah; brothers and sisters, Michael (Nancy) Skoviera, Linda (Dave) Mateuswic, Dolora Mills, Robert Skoviera, Michelle Holms, and Jeff (Janice) Skoviera; in-laws, William (Myra) Maki, Robert Maki, and Debra Maki; special friend, Gretta Madsen, and many nieces and nephews.

Per Pattie’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place on August 26, 2023 at the Aurora Athletic Club in Ironwood.
