Obituary for Patricia Krause

Patricia L. Krause, 81, of Ironwood, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016 in Ironwood. She was born March 23, 1935 in Ironwood, the daughter of the late Charles and Eva (Tomich) Tolvanen. Patricia attended the Ironwood schools, graduating from Luther L. Wright High School with the class of 1953. On September 3, 1955 she married Bernard W. Krause at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Ironwood. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2000. Patricia worked at Carlson''s Super Market which became Super One in Ironwood for 25 years. After herretirement, she volunteered at the St. Vincent De Paul store in Ironwood. She also brought communion to residents at Westgate Nursing Home. Patriciawas a member of St. Michael''s Catholic Church and later Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood where she served as Eucharistic Minister for over 37 years. Patricia was very active in all of her children and grandchildren''s sporting events, including involvement in the Booster Club. She truly enjoyed her monthly luncheons with her fellow classmates for the past 63 years, became an avid Detroit Tiger baseball fan, and she "loved" to go shopping, especially in the greater Green Bay area. Patricia was a king-hearted and generous woman who was always looking to ensure others'' happiness. "Treat others in the way in which you would wish to be treated," was often heard in her conversations with family members. She is survived by her children, Patrick (Rosanne) Krause of Ironwood, Jacqueline (Daniel) Hampston of Bessemer, Tom Krause of Green Bay, and Paul Krause of Ontario, WI; her grandchildren, Chuck (Katie) Hampston of Bessemer, Patrick (Chelsea) Hampston of Butternut, WI, Stephanie (Zak) Breitenfeldt of Wausau, Caryn (Sam Miller) Krause of Milwaukee, and Amanda (Ryan Sabel) Krause of Nashville; two great-grandchildren, Quin Hampston and Max Breitenfeldt; her sister, Diane Newman of Hurley; and nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Fr. Robb Jurkovich as celebrant. The family will receive relatives and friends in the St. Joseph''s Family Room one hour prior to the mass at the church. A luncheon will follow. Inurnment will be at 2 pm at the Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood.
