Obituary for Norma Jannette Pertile

Norma Jannette Pertile, 66,
of 303 Southwest St., Ironwood, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, in her
home, with family by her side.      She was born Sept. 14, 1944, in Detroit, to
the late Norman and Rachel ( Harvey) Bourbeau, attended Ironwood schools, and
graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1962.      On June 27, 1964, she was married to Joseph
"Bart" Pertile at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Ironwood by the late Msgr.
Joseph Seifert.      During the years of being a homemaker and stay
at home mom, Norma worked as a certified nurse's aide at Grand View
Hospital, cooked for Jimmy Francis at the Bonaventure in downtown Hurley,
Wis., and managed the Big Boy Restaurant on Cloverland Drive in
Ironwood.      Norma was a member of Our Lady of Peace
Catholic Church in Ironwood. She enjoyed camping, playing bingo and going to the
casino, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and
friends.      Surviving are her husband, Bart, of 46 years;
five children, Linda Shwery, Marshfield, Wis., Jimmy (Kristine) Pertile, Steven
(Lisa) Pertile, and Susan (Bob) Silva, all of Ironwood, and Cheryl (Damon)
Morrison, Kingman, Ariz.; 20 grandchildren, Michael, Joseph, Brittany, Devon,
Becca, Akaley, Samantha, Corey, Danielle, Ella, Jacob, Katie, Taylor, Tabatha,
Crissy, Robert, Tylor, Blaydes, Zachary and Breeann; six great-grandchildren,
Bailey, Joseph Jr., Cayden, Braydon, Emersyn and Karsen; a sister, Rhoda (Mark)
Cole, Battle Creek; brothers-and-sisters-in-law, Shirley Pertile, Bessemer,
Denny and Darlene Pertile and Betty Ann and Art Ramme, all of Ironwood, and
Ricky and Sandy Pertile, Hurley; and her faithful companion to the end, her
poodle "Buffy".      Besides her parents, Norma was preceded in
death by an infant daughter, Patricia Rae Pertile; a brother, Joseph Bourbeau; a
son-in-law, Paul Shwery; and a brother-in-law, Raymond Pertile.      A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
Wednesday, Oct. 27, at noon, at Our Lady of Peace
Church in Ironwood, with the Rev. Darryl Pepin, celebrant.      Rite of Committal will take place in the St.
Joseph Family Room at the church, with luncheon to follow in the parish
hall.      Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery,
Ironwood.      Relatives and friends may call in the St.
Joseph Family Room at the church from 11 a.m. until noon on
Wednesday.      Pallbearers will be Norma's grandsons, to
include Jacob Pertile, Tylor Morrison, Michael Williams, Joey Williams, Devon
Frank and Robert Kerby.      Norma's obituary may be viewed online and

is in charge of the arrangements.       The family would like to thank Aspirus Grand
View Hospital, Fr. Darryl Pepin, and Dr. Rocco and staff, and especially Nancy
Schaaf  from Caring Home Health, for all the special care she gave to Norma.
