Obituary for Michael C. Sullivan

Michael C. Sullivan, 50, a resident of the Maple Leaf Group
Home in Kimball, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at home.      He was born June 13, 1961, in Milwaukee, son
of Joanne (Kopacz) and the late John Sullivan, attended St. Florian's Grade
School there, and graduated from South Division High School in Milwaukee in
1979. He then attended Milwaukee Area Technical College for one and a half
years.      Michael was employed at the Boston Store,
Gimbel's, and as field manager for the Milwaukee Public Park System. He then
moved to Montreal and worked at the Highline Corp. in Hurley.      A devout Catholic, Michael was a member of St.
Mary's Church in Hurley and the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montreal.
He enjoyed playing sports and dancing in his younger years, and loved to draw
and play cards.      Surviving are his mother, Joanne Sullivan, of
Montreal; five brothers, John (Lynn Tesch), Patrick (Sandy), and James (Julie),
all of Milwaukee, Robert, Montreal, and Mark (Lynn), West Allis; two sisters,
Rita (Steve) Tischer, Milwaukee, and Cynthia Collins, West Allis; a
brother-in-law, David Poker, of Franklin; numerous nieces and nephews; and a
host of friends at the Maple Leaf Group Home, Highline Corp., and in
Milwaukee.      Besides his father, John, who preceded him in
death on Feb. 19, 1993, Michael was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Poker,
in 1995.      Cremation has taken place.      A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's
Catholic Church in Hurley, with the Rev. Frank Kordek OFM,
celebrant.      Rite of Committal and inurnment will follow in
St. Mary's Cemetery, Hurley.      Luncheon will be served in the parish hall
immediately upon return from the cemetery.      In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to
the Highline Corp., 100 Cary Rd., Hurley, Wis. 54534.      Michael's obituary can be viewed online and
