Obituary for Michael J. Magdziak

Michael Magdziak, 76, passed away on April 4, 2021, at his home in Ironwood with his family by his side.

Mike was born on March 16, 1945, in ironwood to Sylvester and Leone (Kowalkowski) Magdziak

On September 29, 1964, he married Linda Potinsky.

Mike was employed as a carpet installer for many years at McKevitt-Patrick Furniture Store in Ironwood. He always joked that he always laid the best.

He enjoyed hunting with his son and grandsons at the Camp Mouse House, camping, fishing at Lake Gogebic, and loved building his airplanes out of aluminum cans. He was also a lifetime member of the Aurora Club.

Mike is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters, Wendy (Mickey) Backlund of Montreal Wisconsin and Kim Kieber of Ironwood; son, Michael Magdziak of Kimball, Wisconsin;grandchildren, Nathan (Amanda) Magdziak, Alex (Ashley) Hautanen, Travis Hautanen, Mitch (Kara) Kieber, Ashley (Fabian) Kristo and Josie Magdziak; great-grandchildren, Landon, Violet, Lucas, Jaxson, Garrett, and Parker; brother, Paul; and sister, Janet.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wally, and sister, Francelle.

Cremation has taken place

The family has chosen not to have services at this time.
