Matthew J. Haavisto, 56 of Bessemer, Michigan died on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Aspirus Ironwood Hospital. He was born February 28, 1960 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Arthur and Alma (Lucas) Haavisto. Matt was passionate about being an Owner/Operator in the trucking industry for 30 years. He was a strong, independent, and caring man and will be missed by those who knew him. Matt is survived by the joy of his life, his daughter, Brittany Haavisto of Bessemer, as well as numerous family and friends. A private celebration of Matt''s life will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 provided by the loving families of Cornerstone Church in Ramsay, MI. Pastor Todd Winkler will share thoughts and prayer.
