Obituary for Lorraine L. Petersen

Lorraine L. Petersen, 92, of
Mercer, died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, in Hurley.      The former Lorraine Suelflow was born Aug. 7,
1918, in West Allis, daughter of the late Walter and Martha (Dahms) Suelflow,
and attended school there.      She was employed as a licensed practical nurse
at Milwaukee County General Hospital for 25 years, moving to Mercer in
1977.      Lorraine enjoyed sewing, crocheting, baking,
crafts and good friends. She also served as a volunteer cook for area snowmobile
races.      She was married to LeRoy W. Petersen on Sept.
24, 1966, at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church in West Allis. He preceded her in death on
July 10, 2009.      Surviving are two sons, Wayne, Mercer, and
Kurtis (Sylvia), Racine; a daughter, Barbara Fuerst, Beaver Dam; nine
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews.        Besides her parents and husband, she was
preceded in death by a brother, Edwin Suelflow; and sister, Esther
Kruck.      Relatives and friends may call at St. Isaac
Jogues Catholic Church in Mercer on Friday, July 1, beginning at 10 a.m., where
a Mass of Christian Burial  will be celebrated at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Lourdu
Mandapati, celebrant.      Rite of Committal and interment will follow in
