Obituary for Kathryn Gloria "Katie" Rigoni

Kathryn Gloria
"Katie" Rigoni, 88, of Hammond, Wis., and a native of Ironwood, died
Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, surrounded by her loving
family.      She was born Feb. 18, 1923, in Ironwood,
daughter of the late Frank and Stana Tomlanovich, and attended Newport Grade
School and Luther L. Wright High School.      She was married to Arnold D. Rigoni on July
21, 1941, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Ironwood by the late Rev. Carl
Petranek. Arnold preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 2002.      Kathryn was a member of Our Lady of Peace
Catholic Church in Ironwood. She was an avid walker, walking on an average of
six miles a day. She also liked to bowl. She moved to Hammond in Oct. 2010 to be
closer to family, and had enjoyed being there and meeting new friends. She also
enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.      Surviving are two daughters, Doreen (Bernard)
Severin, Hammond, and Coreen (Jon) Compton, Ishpeming; three
grandchildren, Lori (Andrew) Dehler, Hudson, Wis., Mark (Kimberly) Severin,
South St. Paul, Minn., and Kimberly Compton, Green Bay, Wis.; two
great-grandchildren, Alicia Severin and Luukas Wainio; two step-great grandsons,
Jacob and Jordan Wallin; a brother, Rudolph (June) Tomlanovich, Menomonee Falls,
Wis.; a sister, Lena Osterman, Ironwood; and numerous nieces and
nephews.      Besides her parents and husband, Kathryn was
preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Jean, at age three months; two brothers,
Emil and Steve Tomlanovich; and two sisters, Julia Contos and Rose
Grayson.      A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
Fri., Aug. 26, at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in
Ironwood, preceded by visitation in the St. Joseph Family Room beginning at 10
a.m., with the Rev. Darryl J. Pepin, celebrant.      Rite of Committal and interment will follow in
Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood.      Luncheon will be served in the parish hall
immediately upon return from the cemetery.      Pallbearers will be Mark and Bernard Severin,
Andrew Dehler, Jordan and Jacob Wallin, and Bernard and Gerald
