Obituary for John O. Lipske

John O. Lipske, 76, of Franklin, WI, and a native of Upson, WI died
peacefully Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, in his home, with his loving family by his
side.
    
He was born Feb. 13, 1935, in Upson, son of the late George and Helen (Nymsyk)
Lipske, and graduated from J.E. Murphy High School in Hurley in 1953. Following 
high school he joined his brothers in Lipske Brothers Logging. He then became a
proud Montreal, WI miner until the mine closed in 1964. John and his family then
moved to Milwaukee where he worked for WJ Jones Trucking and  then Arby
Construction as a heavy equipment operator/mechanic until he retired. John was a
proud member of Teamsters Local 200 for over 40 years and a member of St. Martin
of Tours Catholic Church in Franklin. He enjoyed spending time in his garden and
woodworking at home in his garage.
    
John was a wonderful "Papa" to his great-grandsons and he looked forward to
seeing them every day. He was a devoted family man. John taught us how to love
and we will never forget how special his love was for his family and
friends.
    
On Aug. 31, 1957, he was married to the former Donna Mae Trombi at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church in Montreal. She preceded him in death on May 30,
2010.
    
Surviving are a daughter, Florence "Dolly" (Mike) Busch, Franklin; two
grandchildren, Michelle Busch (fiancé John Kreuser) and Kevin Busch, and two
great-grandchildren, Preston and Aiden Busch, all of Franklin; a sister,
Catherine Shaver, Washburn; WI, numerous nieces and nephews; and
brothers-and-sisters-in-law, Robert (Helen) Trombi, Montreal, Richard (Mary)
Trombi, Bloomington, Calif., Carole Semenak, Ironwood, Mich., Janice Berglund,
Montreal, Judy Ciatti, Hurley, Diane "Bunny" Maffesanti, Ironwood, Jim Zakovic
and John Popovich, both of Mellen, and Lois Lipske and Walter Peltonen, both of
Upson.
    
Besides his parents and wife, John was preceded in death
by eight brothers, Joseph, Casmer "Jackie", Martin, Leo, William, Edward,
Chester and Clarence "Rusty"; and two sisters, Lucille Rokser and Eleanor
Peltonen.  
    
Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 16, from 10 to 11 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic
Church in Hurley, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11
a.m., with the Rev. Frank Kordek, OFM, celebrant.
    
Rite of Committal and interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery,
Upson.
    
Luncheon will be served at the Upson Town Hall immediately upon return from the
cemetery.
