Obituary for Jean M. Nasi

Jean M. Nasi, 53, of Gile,
died Tuesday, February 16, 2010, in Hurley, with her family by her side, after
a strong and courageous battle with cancer.      Jean was born the daughter of Norita (Bott) and
the late Richard Wiercinski on June 6, 1956, in Madison.     She attended grade school in Saxon and
graduated from J.E. Murphy High School in Hurley in 1974.      Jean was employed in retail sales and enjoyed
helping out at the Iron Horse Saloon in Hurley.  She enjoyed spending time in
her flower garden and loved her pets, Oddball, Belle, Missy and Rosie. She,
along with her friend Sherry Anonich, also loved watching all Wisconsin sports
teams play.      Jean was a devoted wife, mother,
grandmother, daughter and friend who will be greatly
missed.      She was married to William J. Nasi on October
6, 1997, in Saxon.     Surviving are her husband Bill, of Gile, sons,
Joe (Courtney) Maslanka, Hurley, and Matt Maslanka (Shantel Newsome), Ironwood,
Mich., a daughter Paige Nasi, and a step-son, Preston Nasi, both at home;
grandchildren, Gracie, Peyton, Mia, Lilly and Devon; her mother, Norita
Wiercinski, Saxon; brother, John (Stacey) Wiercinski, Hurley; father and
mother-in-law, George and Verna) Nasi, Pence; brother-in-laws, Robert (Greta)
Nasi, Pence and Gerald (Jean) Nasi Sr, Hurley; sister-in-laws, Suzanne (Ace)
Wick, Nebraska and Lisa Nasi, Sturgeon Bay; aunts and uncles, Gerry (Ronny)
Clement and Thomas (Mary) Bott, both of Silver Bay, Minn; and a great aunt and
uncle, Edith Kaari, Kimball and Art (Marilyn) Baribeau, Saxon; nieces and
nephews Meghan and Shane Wiercinski, August, Annie, and Gerri Nasi Jr., Morgan
and Ronnie Nasi; Savanha and Hayden Wick.     Jean is further survived by other relatives and
friends.     Preceding her in death were her father,
Richard, in 1997; and a son, Charles, in 1975.        According to Jean's wishes, cremation has taken
place.     A memorial service will be held Saturday,
February 20, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hurley, with the Rev.
Michael Hayden officiating.     Burial will take place at a later date in
Lakeview Cemetery, Saxon.     Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the
church on Saturday.     Honorary pallbearers will be some of her
dearest friends: Sherry Anonich, Tiffany Fontecchio, Carrie Hall, Laurie
Traczyk, Jody Brown, Sarah Robinson and Christy Munn.     Jean's obituary may be viewed online, and
