Obituary for James "Jim" Anderson

James "Jim" Anderson, 76, of
Ironwood, died Thursday, July 22, 2010, in Ironwood.
     Jim was born in Ironwood on Nov. 1, 1933, son
of the late Charles and Caroline (Hoven) Anderson.
     He attended local schools and graduated from
Luther L.Wright High School in 1953 and Gogebic Community College in 1955. He
then served in the U.S. Army at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Tx. from
1956-1958.
     Following his honorable discharge, Jim was
employed at the A&P Food Store in Ironwood and at the A&P Store in
Ashland, Wis. until closing. He was then employed by Nicholas Distributing in
Ironwood until it closed and Carlson's County Market until his retirement in
1995.
     Jim was a life-long member of Salem Lutheran
Church in Ironwood. He was a kind and caring person and will be
missed.
     Survivors include two nephews, Dave (Helen)
Anderson, Georgetown, Tx., and Bob (Michele) Longhini, Ranchester, Wyo.; a
niece, Carole (Jack) Ahola, White Pine; and grand nieces, nephews, cousins and
many friends.
    Besides his parents, he was preceded in death
by three brothers, Carl "Barney", Walter "Wally" and Roger; and four sisters,
Gertrude Stanley, Lucille Saari, Lorraine Wierl and Viola Longhini.
    In accordance with Jim's wishes, cremation has
taken place and no services will be held.
    Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery,
Ironwood.
