Obituary for James P. "Jim" Albert
James P “Jim” Albert, 62, of Ironwood, passed away on January 18, 2021, in ironwood.
Jim was born in 1958, in Ironwood, the son of James and Patricia (England) Albert.
He owned and operated numerous Ironwood businesses including Knight Club Billiards, From House to Home, and Captain's Sub Shop. He was especially proud of his work with the local deaf community and his charity, Deaf Services of America. Jim truly cared about the community and wanted Ironwood to thrive, and he was vocal about his belief that Ironwood was headed in the wrong direction. More importantly, he worked to change that by attending local meetings, speaking out, and encouraging others to do the same. He will also be remembered for his encyclopedic knowledge of Ironwood's commercial history. Jim's great talent was bringing people together whether through online political forums such as About Ironwood and the Superior Chronicle, impromptu pool, and rock, paper, scissors tournaments at the Knight Club, or cards and pizza at the Cattle Ranch.
Jim impacted a tremendous number of lives and his death truly marks the end of an era in Ironwood "Keep your eye on the object ball and stay down on your shot!"
Among his surviving family are his brothers, Rick and Steve; his cousins, Jackie, Alan, and Souheila.; and close friends, Elaina, Skip, Steve, and Chad.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. James and Patricia Albert; his brother, Scott Raymond; and his good friends, James P. Averitt, Barry M. Karcus, and Ida R. Adernaught.
