Obituary for Ines Elizabeth Vaughn

God took Ines Elizabeth Vaughn,
a longtime Mercer resident, home on April 23, 2011, age 95, when she died of
natural causes.      Ines was the daughter of the late Herman and
Ella (Behm) Stone and was born March 6, 1916 in Neva, Wis. in Langlade
County.      Ines married Arjay Vaughn, son of Frank and
Mathilda Vaughn, on Nov. 3, 1933.      Ines attended the Mercer School and often
talked about the friends she made there and kept in contact with over the years.
She worked at various employments including cooking at the Mercer Grade School,
working at the Toothpick Factory, a candle company, and Tru Flight. She liked to
sew, embroider and crochet. Many of the things she made are among our most
cherished keepsakes.      Ines will be missed by her family and many
friends.      Besides her parents and Arjay, she was
preceded in death by four brothers, Eugene, Carl, Robert and Lloyd Stone; two
sisters, Virginia Casanova and Frieda Jensens; a daughter-in-law, Joan (Leroy)
Vaughn; and a grandson, Benjamin Vaughn.      Ines is survived by four sons, Leroy of
Mercer, Arjay F. (Geri) of Badin, N.C., Carl (Nancy) of Kiel, and Harvey (Linda)
of Howards Grove; four daughters, Phyllis (Calvin) Horner of Bozeman, Mont.,
Barbara (Norbert) Baeseman of Winchester, Janis (Bill) Flesch of Mercer, and
Darlene (Tony) Hoffmann of Sheboygan Falls; two sisters, Vivian Saari of Hurley,
and Bette Dierkes of Cave Junction, Ore.; 22 grandchildren; 45
great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.      Cremation has taken place and private services
and inurnment will be in the Mercer Cemetery at a later date.      Arrangements were entrusted to
McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Ironwood.
