death on March 20, 1989.      Lena was an active member of St. Mary's Church
and its Council of Catholic Women, currently served on the funeral lunch
committee, and was a former member of the choir. She was also a member
of Kimball Homemakers, a life member of the auxiliaries to both Hurley American
Legion Post 58 and Iron County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1580, and worked as
a volunteer for the American Cancer Society on local drives for many years. She
loved her home, planting flowers and gardening.      Surviving are her son, William W. (Leigh),
Golden Valley, Minn.; a granddaughter, Jill (Harold) Bradshaw, Lake Worth, Fla.;
and numerous nieces and nephews.      Besides her parents and husband, she was
preceded in death by her daughter, Maxine Kangas, in 2006; brothers, Maximilian,

Larson.      Out of respect for Lena's wishes, cremation
has taken place.      Relatives and friends may call from 10 to 11
a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 19, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hurley, where
a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated  at 11 a.m.,  with the Rev. Frank
Kordek, O.F.M., celebrant.      Rite of Committal will take place at the
church, with luncheon to follow in the parish hall.      Spring interment will be in St. Mary's

a charity of one's choice.       Lena's obituary
