Gary Couture, 66, of Wakefield, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2019, holding his wife’s hand.      Gary was born on October 4, 1953, in Ashland. In 1972 he graduated from High School in Butternut.      On June 18, 1977, he married Darlene Thomas of Ironwood, Michigan.      Throughout his life, he had many jobs including working at Breakwater / Kenmar Restaurants, Super One & Erspamer Grocery and operated a daycare. He loved his dogs, Smokey, Comet, Lady, and Sadie. He loved riding his bike, playing basketball, walking, listening to his music and drinking Mountain Dew. Most of all, he loved supporting the Green Bay Packers.      He will be sadly missed by his wife, Darlene of 42 years; his mother-in-law, Irma Thomas, as well as many sister/brother-n-laws, nieces/ nephews and many friends.       He was preceded in death by his foster parents, Anna and Fred Donz.      As per his wishes, cremation has taken place.      A Celebration of Life service will be conducted Monday, October 21, at Pioneer Park Apartments activity room at 1 pm, preceded by a visitation from 12:00-1:00.      The McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home is assisting the family.      The family would like to thank the kind and caring staff at Gogebic Medical Care in Wakefield.
