Obituary for Evelyn A. Olson

Evelyn A. Olson, 99, of
Ironwood, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, in Ironwood.       She was born in Hibbing, Minn. on June 26,
1911, the daughter of the late John and Mary Masich, and attended school in
Hibbing for two years before moving to Benoit, Wis.      She was employed at Grand View Hospital in
Ironwood from 1931 to 1934, and at the Hansen Glove Factory, Illinois Glove and
Munsingwear.       Evelyn loved being with her family and enjoyed
their many visits. She loved working in her yard with her flowers and garden.
She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Ironwood.      She was married to Einer Olson on July 3,
1934. He preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 1985.      Surviving are her son, Donald (Arlene), White
Pine; a grandson, Dennis Roy (Susan) Olson, Vassar; four great-grandchildren,
Casey Lane (Steve) Kurchak, Linwood; Callie Frances (Thomas) Johnson, Vassar;
Rachel Susan (Robert) Sherman, Flint; and Andrew Dennis Olson, Vassar; four
great-great-grandchildren, Makenna and Makayla Kurchak and Landen and Laurel
Johnson; a brother, Frank Masich, Duluth, Minn.; and numerous nieces and
nephews.      Besides her parents and husband, Evelyn was
preceded in death by five sisters, Katie Masich, Mary Stannard, Mathilda Benda,
Donna Paulson and Rose Masich.      Cremation has taken place.      A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at 10:30 a.m., at Riverside Cemetery,
in Ironwood, with the Rev. Peggy Rose, officiating.     Luncheon will follow at Tacconelli's in downtown Ironwood.     To view Evelyn's obituary online, sign the
