Obituary for Erma M. Romanowski

Wausau, Wis.- Erma M.
Romanowski, 86, of Hurley, died Thursday, July 28, 2011, with her
family by her side, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau.      The former Erma DeRosso
was born March 20, 1925, in Hurley, daughter of the late John and Theresa
(DeRosso) DeRosso. She attended the Cary School and St. Mary's Grade School, and
graduated from Lincoln High School in 1943. She was employed as a clerk at
Paul's Store in Hurley, worked at Simpson Electric Co in Mercer, Wis., and owned
and operated the Cary Tavern in Hurley with her late husband, Frank Suzik,
for many years, retiring in 1983.      Erma was a member of St.
Mary's Catholic Church in Hurley. She loved to sew, and enjoyed going to the
casino, playing smear and bingo. She especially enjoyed spending time with her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.      She was married to Frank
Suzik in 1945 at St. Mary's Church by the late Rev. P.F.Meyer. Frank
preceded her in death in 1979.      She was then married to
Charles Romanowski in 1983 at St. Mary's Church by the Rev. Joseph Willger.
Charles preceded her in death in 1985.      Surviving are a
son, Jerome (Ginger) Suzik, and daughter, Loreli (Joe) Potinsky, both of
Ironwood; four grandchildren, Jeff Suzik, St. Louis, Mo., Jason (Joy) Suzik,
Waukesha, Wis., Chad (Shelly) Potinsky, Allendale, Mich., and Cassie (Corey)
Smith, Carol Stream, Ill.; six great-grandchildren, Ethan, Evan, Dominic,
Emilia, Adalyn and Lydia; a brother, Bruno DeRosso, Ironwood; two sisters, Delia
Johnson, Onalaska, Wis., and Rose Obradovich, Phoenix, Ariz.; three
sisters-in-law, Ann Yale, Chicago, and Margaret Bluse and Irene Rintala, both of
Hurley; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.      Besides her parents and
husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, Albino DeRosso; and two
sisters, Rita Johnson and Rena Stanczak.      Out of respect for Erma's
wishes, cremation has taken place.      Private family
memorial services will be held.      Inurnment will be in St.
Mary's Cemetery, Hurley.      Memorial contributions may
be made to St. Mary's Church, 404 Iron St., Hurley, Wis. 54534.      Erma's obituary can
