Obituary for Edward "Junior" Popko

Edward “Junior” Popko, 88, of Ironwood, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at Westgate, Nursing, Rehabilitation, and Assisted Living Facility in Ironwood.

He was born on June 4, 1932, in Oma, Wisconsin, son of Edward and Anna (Kasieta) Popko.

Edward was a long-time paper carrier for The Daily Globe. He could often be seen pushing his lawnmower around tow, and he would help older folks by doing errands for them. He lived a long fruitful life and had many friends in Ironwood.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Popko; mother and stepfather, Anna and Clarence Singleton; sisters, Francis Rodak and Dolores Hetzek; and brother, Donald Singleton.

Edward is survived by his sister, Bonnie (Daniel) Stella; sister-in-law, Patty Singleton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

I wish to thank the nursing staff and Lori Zanella of Westgate Nursing, Rehabilitation and Assisted Living Facility for their assistance.

The family has chosen Ketola-Burla Funeral Home of Ironwood to honor Junior's legacy of life. You can leave a condolence or a tribute at mckevittpatrickfuneralhome.com.
